Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and MN Cheese Monger LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we", "us", "our"), the maker of Cheeseboard. They govern your use of the macOS app, this website, and any related services. By installing the app, creating an account, or using the website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
1. The service
Cheeseboard is a macOS productivity app that consolidates clipboard history, voice-to-text, and screen capture behind the fn key. We also operate the website at cheeseboard.ai. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We try not to break things people rely on, but we don't guarantee that any specific feature will exist forever.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU) to use Cheeseboard. If you're under 18, your parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf. One person per account; don't share credentials. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, so keep your password secure.
3. Subscription and billing
- Free trial. New users get a 14-day free trial of paid features. No credit card required to start.
- Paid plans. After the trial, continued access to paid features requires an active subscription. Plans are billed monthly or annually as displayed at checkout.
- Renewals. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. We'll send a reminder before each renewal.
- Cancellation. You can cancel anytime in the app under Settings → Account, or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds. We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you're unhappy in the first 14 days of a paid subscription, email us and we'll generally refund — case-by-case, in good faith.
- Price changes. If we change pricing, we'll give at least 30 days' notice before it applies to your renewal. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Cheeseboard to capture, store, or share content without the legal right to do so (including content belonging to others, or recordings made without required consent).
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where law explicitly grants that right and we can't restrict it.
- Resell, sub-license, or redistribute the app or any part of it.
- Attack, probe, or attempt to disrupt our infrastructure, accounts other than your own, or other users.
- Use the service to break any law, infringe rights, or harm anyone.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you've violated this section. We'll usually warn you first; for serious violations we may act immediately.
5. Your content
Anything you capture, type, dictate, paste, or save with Cheeseboard belongs to you. We don't claim any rights to it and we don't use it to train AI models. As described in our Privacy Policy, the app does not transmit clipboard contents, dictation text, or captured images to our servers — they stay on your device unless you explicitly share them.
You're responsible for what you do with content you capture. If you generate a public walkthrough or share a link, the recipients can see whatever it contains. Use that responsibly.
6. Our intellectual property
The Cheeseboard app, source code, design, brand name, logo (including Morsel), website, and documentation are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. While your subscription is active, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Cheeseboard on Macs you own or control. That license ends when your subscription does.
You may take screenshots of the app for review, tutorial, or personal purposes, and write about Cheeseboard in good faith. You may not use our brand to suggest endorsement we haven't given.
7. Privacy
How we handle your data is described in detail in our Privacy Policy. By using Cheeseboard, you also agree to that policy.
8. Third-party services
Cheeseboard relies on third-party services to function (e.g., authentication, hosting, payment processing). Their availability is outside our control. We pick reputable providers and minimize what they see, but we can't guarantee their performance or uptime.
9. Disclaimers
Cheeseboard is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every possible attack — we promise to try.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of Cheeseboard is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — even if we've been advised such damages were possible.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.
11. Termination
You can stop using Cheeseboard and cancel your subscription at any time. We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if your payment fails, or if we're required to by law. After termination, your account data is deleted within 30 days unless we're legally required to retain it longer. Sections that should reasonably survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations, governing law) do.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service changes or the law requires it. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date and, where appropriate, announced by email or in-app notice. Continued use of Cheeseboard after a change means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to that jurisdiction. If you're a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer-protection law, nothing in this section overrides the rights you have under that law.
14. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These terms (with the Privacy Policy) are the full agreement between you and Cheeseboard about the service.
- Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a right one time, that doesn't mean we've waived it.
- Assignment. You can't transfer your account or rights under these terms without our consent. We can transfer ours (e.g., in a merger or acquisition) without yours.
